It feels like just yesterday Kristy and I sat on the phone planning her Texas spring wedding. Their ceremony seemed SO FAR away at that moment but I swear we blinked and the day was upon us! Kristy was incredibly organized from the beginning and had such a clear vision for the day. Not only did she want it to be beautiful, but she wanted it to be FUN, and true to her and John. I’m not sure where she found the time but Kristy somehow managed to start a new job, tackle being a new mama all while simultaneously planning her wedding!
That makes her a Super Mom in my book!
I would say Kristy’s vision for a fun, beautiful and unique wedding was a success because not only did her husband get to wear jeans as he requested (best. future. wife. ever) but their son made his grand entrance to the ceremony in a remote controlled jeep! In fact, she and her father even DANCED down the aisle!
The banner hanging at their reception read:
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps short account of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes,
Love never fails
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
I couldn’t find better words if I tried, to express the love I witnessed on March 25th, 2021.
There is just something about they way they look at each other that you know when they promise forever to one another, they mean it.
Kristy’s vows were so heartfelt and raw as she described what she loved most about John. It wasn’t just the way he loved her, but the way he loved their son. As she spoke about the kind of father John is to the sweetest expression of their love, baby Wyatt, it brought Kristy and the rest of the chapel to tears (myself included!). It was clear that this little boy, only 9 months young is so incredibly cherished by his parents.
Kristy & John, it was truly a privilege to attend and capture your big day. May you remember 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and choose one another everyday for the rest of your lives.
Enjoy re-living your day through these photos Mr. & Mrs. Harris! …if you are anything like me you won’t be able to wipe the smile off your face looking at them. Kristy, you did such a beautiful job planning and I couldn’t have loved your venue more! Everything was simply PERFECT.
Oh! Last, but certainly not least: your wedding cake and my brisket sandwich from your reception were two of the greatest things I’ve ever tasted. Like ever. 🙂
