From the very beginning of pregnancy, you probably have a pretty good idea of what you want for your labor. Now, it’s just a matter of finding a provider who understands your style! By choosing a provider who aligns with your beliefs, you can make sure your birth plan is honored as much as possible. If you’re looking for a practice that will give you control over your delivery, let me tell you all about Origins Birth and Wellness! This one-of-a-kind center is devoted to giving you a holistic approach to your delivery.
About Origins Birth and Wellness
Origins Birth and Wellness started out in 2013 when two local certified professional midwives decided they could go further together. Gina Thompson and Kaitlyn Wages wanted to create an environment where parents could come and receive support for their unique birth plans. The center opened up a second location in 2018 so they could reach more families. Since starting, the center has welcomed both new and repeat parents for their labors.
While the center has become known for its prenatal and labor services, Origins now offers additional services, including well-woman care, conception care, extended postpartum care, and an IV infusion bar. Their buildings provide a warm space where you’ll have all your appointments, and their private rooms are the perfect place to labor in comfort. You’ll have access to any necessary IVs, and all the midwives are trained in CPR and infant resuscitation. Their priority through every step is your well-being.
Services
The midwives at Origins Birth and Wellness offer family-centered care from the very start of pregnancy. You’ll meet with a midwife who will check on your progress and answer any of your questions. The center will perform lab work and a standard urinalysis within the building and provide referrals for all ultrasounds. You’ll be able to chat with your midwife during each appointment regarding all your birth options. They’ll make sure you have all the information you need to make decisions that are best for your family.
Specialty
Once the contractions begin, you’ll contact your Origins Birth and Wellness midwife and head over to the birth center. The midwives have created a home-like atmosphere with large tubs and warm beds so you can labor however you see fit. The center gives you tons of space to move around, and their kitchen lets you prepare any food you might need. Your family is encouraged to come along and help however they can. Your midwife will guide you through relaxation techniques and assist you as you move into positions. Following your baby’s delivery, they’ll prioritize bonding through immediate skin-to-skin. Your midwife will perform a thorough evaluation of both you and your baby before releasing you to recover in the comfort of your home. You’ll have several postpartum visits so your midwife can be sure you’re on the path to recovery.
